The Epworth Sleepiness Scale is a universally accepted standard in determining the quality of sleep, or lack of effective sleep experienced by an individual. While you are contemplating your answers, be painfully honest with yourself. In other words, if you were to be asked your weight, write down the weight you would want the anesthesiologist, who is putting you to sleep for surgery, to know instead of the weight you give the guy at the DMV to put on your driver's license.
In contrast to just feeling tired, how likely are you to doze off or fall asleep in the following situations? Even if you have not done some of these things recently, try to work out how they would have affected you. Use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number or each situation.
